I've heard a number of questions and complaints about our largely empty snack rack in the last few days. Frankly, our spending on snacks and drinks for the office has gotten out of control recently. We provide this benefit as a convenience and part of what we want to be an awesome working environment, but we need to be reasonable with the expense, especially when we look at it in conjunction with team lunches as well as beer and kombucha.
We still want to keep this perk alive, so in the coming days, we'll solicit feedback from the group on the items people most want and keep a limited supply of those items on hand. To set a reasonable expectation with everyone, we will be working within a budget (more expensive selections = less quantity) and we will be reordering on a regular schedule (not whenever the snack rack gets low).
